Air America Early Review

Unfortunately I missed the first day of Air America Radio in Chicago, so I’m depending on the review the Washington Post offers among other things. Clearly, like most other shows, it’s going to take some time to develop. I remember, when I still watched Friends, seeing an early episodes rerun and realizing how horrible that show started out. One key to Air America Radio working is to develop its own voice, style and format, and not to be defined by what it opposes (conservatives, and their talk radio). A liberal parallel of conservative talk radio will likely fail - and not just due to a lack of principle.

I did get to listen to (much of) the first day of Air America Radio. I thought it was done well. There were tech. glitches and some problems with dead air between segments. However, the topics were good and the discussions that developed from callers were insightful. With time, as you pointed out, Air America will have to find its own in order to last. Yesterday I think proved to be a great starting point.
