While the big Kerry money ($1,000 a person) was in Chicago, Bob Wagner and some other Kerry organizers had a small dollar fundraiser just before the DuPage Democratic Club Meeting. While the amount raised at this fundraiser was modest, as the Dean campaign showed, little money adds up to big money (and gets more people involved to boot!). I spoke to Jeff Townsend a bit about what seemed to work and not work in local fundraising for the Dean campaign. With the general election upon us (and a few tricks from recent experience learned) Kerry will no doubt out-raise what Dean collected in DuPage. Hopefully he’ll do it by quite a lot - because he’s going to need all he can get to battle Bush.
