If you haven’t read Al Gore’s speech at New York University from last night, you should. I haven’t seen the video yet, but I will. I have never been an Al Gore fan, but I was very impressed when I saw him with Howard Dean and Senator Tom Harkin in Dubuque, Iowa in January. Of the three he definitely gave the best speech, and was genuinely funny as well as sharp. This speech, highly critical of the Bush Administration, along with some others he has given, like one last summer for Moveon.org, also in New York City, really show his dramatic growth as a statesman. Is he partisan at times? Yes, but being partisan doesn’t mean you are wrong. In his speech last night Gore was more on target than not.
