The Stakeholder (a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee blog) has a great entry on Donald Rumsfeld blaming the press for the ill-effects of the Bush Administration’s torture policy at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. While Rumsfeld has revealed illegal activity, he refuses to take responsibility. Bush’s continued endorsement of Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld is irresponsible. The problem with the Bush Administration’s early claim to change the “tone” in Washington is that they are “tone deaf” when it comes to the American public and the international community. Since the Bush Administration has no shame, never learns from its mistakes and enacts policies that endanger both our citizens and friends of the United States, the American public must change the players in November. We must start at the top.
