“We Know The Race Is Not To The Swift Nor The Battle To The Strong,” But “You Have To Be In It To Win It”

JoinCross blog has the right title in “Hey Leader Guys…Judy’s Doing Something…” Speaking of Barack Obama and the senate campaign (can it be called that?) in a written piece to the Daily Herald, Judy Topinka criticizes Barack on his funding and taxes. Then she says:

“This is the type of important information voters should be hearing about, that is getting lost in the constant puff-pieces we are seeing on a daily basis regarding Obama’s candidacy.

….

These are the issues that matter to voters, not how many national talk shows you appear on, or how many magazine covers you grace.

In politics, a month can be a lifetime, and this race is far from over.”

While I do not agree with Judy’s conclusions from the facts, and I tend to agree with Barack, it is absolutely fair to make the counter argument to Obama. But Judy goes over the line suggesting that we have a race for senate in Illinois. A race requires at least two candidates (and often produces critiques like Topinka’s). Third parties to the contrary, out of the major parties we have only Barack. He is one candidate. Sorry Judy, there is no senate race for Republicans now.

You act like I don’t know Orion. Not only have I listened to him a lot (though it’s true the concerns of tomato balcony growers are not often covered), but he would probably get my father-in-law’s vote (that’s one, put another one with it and you have a movement ;)
I married into a family that has worked Illinois land for generations, and continues to - in fact they used to raise corn near your neck of the woods, well before the only crop raised became buildings.

You’ve given up your hand, however, with this latest pick - I can see now you’re still hunting.
