Peotone Airport Prospects Improving

Today’s Chicago Tribune reports that Jesse Jackson Jr., Will County Board Chairman James Moustis and new Will County CEO Larry Walsh are starting to work together at Walsh’s suggestion on what may become a single airport. It will be interesting to follow what happens - and what impact it might have on O’Hare Expansion.

    Dear fellow citizens-

I see this matter of a third airport dumb at best. I feel that taking away land by threats or under paying land prices is underhanded. this will also cause more unemployment and lost of farms.

First how about more pro farm help bills? Have we forgotten that we need our friends in farming and if they go, we have to depend on other countries for vegetables and fruits?

Second, how about Rockford or Gary, IN. for a airport? Closer to O’Hare and they have runways and can expand very easy? Why has no one spoke of that?

Third, No airline will go there as its not sound. If they did, this can kill off business around the Midway Airport area causing more unemployment!

Fouth, How are people going to get there from O’Hare and Midway? Has Jeese Jackson Jr. figured that out too? We have to help Amtrak out first with their problems. That is,lost of service and jobs.

Fifth, What’s in it for the elected officals and contractors like ex- governor George Ryan for example?

In my opinion, a Petone Airport would be a failure at best. We have to say NO to a third airport in Petone and YES to more pro-farm bills before it’s too late! Guess work and “Build and they will come” will not happen here. Let your congressperson know now before its too late!
