I’ve given advice to candidates (and businesses) about picking a web address (aka URL) - and always suggest, among other things, that it be as short as possible, as memorable as possible and as unique as possible. Unfortunately John “Jack” Cunningham, who is running for Mayor of Aurora didn’t seek my advice (or similar advice). His website is www.cunninghamformayor.org. According to the Beacon News Jack’s campaign recently sent out at least a partial mailing with the web address www.cunninghamformayor.com, that takes web surfers to Waukegan 1st Ward alderman’s Samuel D. Cunningham Jr.’s site. That’s a bad mistake they tried to rectify with a new printing and mailing (wasting time and possibly campaign funds). But even if the mailing had been printed right - Jack has the wrong URL. It’s too similar - and potentially too confusing. It’s bound to lead to unnecessary confusion.
