Alan Greenspan Promotes “Our Most Valued Policy Asset: The Increased Flexibility Of Our Economy” In Speech Today

Soon-to-retire Federal Reserve Chief Alan Greenspan spoke today at a conference titled “The Greenspan Era: Lessons for the Future,” according to the Daily Herald. In the speech Greenspan touted America’s economic “flexibility”, saying it was “our most valued policy asset,” and demonstrating what he meant in a chart reproduced below.

Greenspan’s legacy is clear. Our economy depends on the flexible back of the American worker - and the flexibility they have taking things out of their wallets to pay for his legacy.
