Naperville District 203 Scott School Makes And Donates Blankets To Earthquake Victims

The Naperville Sun reports that Scott School teacher Naseem Ghouse helped organize a “Blankets for Babies” afterschool event that attracted over 100 first- through fifth-grade children, who made “no-sew” fleece blankets for recent earthquake victims in Asia. The blankets will be given to the United Nations for distribution. My daughter, one of Ms. Ghouse’s students, was one of the children making a blanket yesterday. While my daughter isn’t always able to fully comprehend who she’s doing things for and why, it was a good experience that helped connect her to others in the world. It’s nice knowing that somewhere out there will be an infant who will be a little warmer, covered in a bear cub pattern fleece blanket, thanks to my daughter.
