With apologies to Robin Leach (and Dana Carvey).
According to today’s Daily Herald Republican State Senator Carole Pankau all but endorsed Democratic Comptroller Dan Hynes in announcing her bid for his office.
Is he a nice guy? Carole says “yes.”
Can she think of anything Dan and his office isn’t doing right? Carole says “no” - but of course “there’s always room for improvement.”
Yes, there is always room for improvement - and I’m sure Dan will consider any suggestions you may come up with, treat them the respect they deserve and implement the good ones ASAP. Dan’s also pretty independent and believes in fiscal constraint.
I don’t know why Carole got in front of the press yesterday - but it’s probably a good rule for candidates that if you haven’t figured out yet why you’re running, and you only can say nice things about your opponent, then you probably ought to offer “no comment” - or avoid the press. Running without a reason isn’t running, it’s placeholding. I’m no fan of Carole’s politics, but I’m sure she knows better.
[Editor Note: Further discussion of this is in the comments of my recent post on GOP Congressional Candidate John Vivoda, who’s running in the 6th District]
