Will County Prosecutor Dennis Reboletti To Run For State Rep District 46

Keeping his pledge two weeks ago to endorse a candidate by Thanksgiving to replace outgoing State Representative Lee Daniels, Addison Township GOP Chairman Patrick Durante and his organization endorsed Dennis Reboletti, a Will County Assistant State’s Attorney and Addison Township trustee, for the GOP primary. The Addison organization previously supported Reboletti against State Senator Carole Pankau in the spring 2004 primary for her seat, including reports of support from Lee Daniels. The endorsement by the Addison Township Republicans traditionally has paved the way for victory for DuPage candidates, but it has been weakened of late with the losses of prominent officeholders like former Senate President Pate Philip (Bloomingdale Township GOP member Pankau now holds the seat), the loss of the House Speaker position that Lee Daniels once held (now held by Oswego’s Minority Leader Tom Cross) and the impending retirement of 6th District Congressman Henry Hyde, who employed Patrick Durante in his organization. Daniels’ retirement makes the seat a crucial one for the Addison GOP to hold to maintain its waning power (e.g. see the recent Maio endorsement for DuPage Coroner).

The winner of the GOP primary in the 46th will likely face Elmhurst resident Democrat Joe Vosicky, a lawyer who ran against Lee Daniels last year and will likely gain the support of Democratic organizations this year.
