Rob Bisceglie’s campaign announced tonight that it has received the endorsement of the Illinois AFL- CIO for Rob’s strong positions supporting working men and women in Illinois. Bisceglie’s been busy the last month, hitting the phones seeking support and the money he needs to wage a serious campaign for State Representative in the 45 District - and he could use your support too! On February 11 from 3-4 PM Rob’s holding a volunteer meeting at the Roselle Public Library (40 S. Park St.). Meet Rob there and lend him a hand.
While Rob is busy meeting voters and running his campaign, the Republican candidates started out fighting an ugly campaign - and it ‘ain’t getting prettier.’ Last week the Chicago Tribune ran a story about the GOP primary outlining charges by incumbent GOP State Representative Roger Jenisch that his Republican opponent, Franco Coladipietro, a property tax attorney, has a “cozy relationship” with Bloomingdale Township Assessor and Republican Township Chair Hank Gianvecchio, who has backed Coladipietro’s challenge. Roger’s even filed a Freedom of Information Act request for documents to substantiate his suspicion. Jensich is also pushing on the legislative front, filing “legislation to the Illinois General Assembly to prohibit township assessors from representing property owners appearing before nearby assessors in the same county. Jenisch said Gianvecchio and other assessors have side businesses in which they represent clients before their counterparts in other townships.” Perhaps there’s a story there, perhaps not. Regardless, it’s worth noting that last election Hank Gianvecchio supported (and donated to) Roger Jensich - and now he’s supporting Franco Coladipietro. Hank’s never supported Rob Bisceglie - and based on all this nonsense, that’s probably a point of pride. While the GOP candidates squabble amongst themselves over illegal corruption, real or imagined, let’s put another Democrat in the House by electing Rob Bisceglie - he plans to focus on District 45, which is why residents vote for a state representative.
