State Senate Hopeful Randy Hultgren “On Message” In Naperville This AM

GOP State Representative and State Senate hopeful Randy Hultgren was pressing the flesh at Naperville’s 5th Ave train station today - and he was paying for free coffee at Harry’s food truck to keep the morning commuters awake. I introduced myself and asked if he had any comments for the blog about the issues in the race. Randy pointed me to the brochure he was handing out (you can’t stay any more “on message” than that) and was quite cheerful and friendly. I wished him well and let him get back to greeting potential voters.

While I’m sure Randy Hultgren would have wanted to visit the train station anyway, given the volume of people (and GOP voters) that go through, it’s hard not to wonder if and how Naperville City Councilman and Republican Senate hopeful Richard Furstenau’s recent legal problems may have played into Hultgren’s strategy. I wouldn’t have asked Randy about it anyway - but it would be interesting to know if he thinks there are more Naperville votes for him in the New Year.
