Democrat Joseph Shannon Wins In Illinois Congressional 13th

Joseph Shannon showed organizational strength in beating Bill Reedy in the 13th Congressional Democratic Primary. Using direct mail, robo-calling and, as was evidenced tonight from the many supporters he pointed out for working precincts and train stations, lots of volunteer power, Shannon was able get out the vote of supporters.

The Chicago Tribune reports with 90.53% of precincts counted:

Joseph Shannon with 15,159 votes (56.20%) and Bill Reedy with 11,812 votes (43.80%)
