In the 6th Congressional race Republican Peter Roskam has seemed a bit desperate of late, coming across with a weak attempt to link Democrat Tammy Duckworth to Cook County while trying to pass off his connections to indicted Republican Tom DeLay and others involved in scandals like Vice President Dick Cheney. I’ve argued that Roskam’s plan was to hold fast to the Bush Administration/Congressional Republican ship, where he’s raised a lot of money. But now that the ship is sinking fast and Roskam has nothing to grab to stay afloat. Tammy Duckworth, sticking with the issues, is rising above the floundering Roskam.
