Here’s the story. I never understood what Warner was doing with Iraq policywise (see here). Mark would have been better to avoid the topic than take the position he took. If Warner gets hammered on Iraq during the primary he deserves it - and he already will not get any votes from his position (why not vote Clinton or Biden or Bayh?)* - and he deserves that too.
At least John Kerry, for all his faults, knows how to follow the leader on Iraq, instead of trailing behind.
* I should note that the positions of these three have changed and are increasingly for pull-out - but at this point, its a bit too little too late.
