I used to live in New Jersey and remember Governor Thomas H. Kean - particularly for his advertisement promoting N.J. “New Jersey and you, perfect together” (you’d have to hear the accent to understand why it was memorable). That said, I was pretty young then and claim no particular Garden State political insight.
However, if I were a betting man I’d guess that if Thomas H. Kean is capable of helping his son (Jr.) using questionable ethics like these, then there may have been some sort of payoff in Kean’s involvement in the September 11th hack job recently aired on ABC. It could be simple name recognition. It could be more - there may be benefits to being a Bush team supporter.
