You can read the AARP questionnaire for the 6th Congressional race here. Notice, every checkbox position AARP has, Tammy Duckworth has checked her position. Notice, Peter Roskam never checks a box. Notice that while Peter Roskam says he’s against privatizing Social Security when he’s talking to AARP, when he’s talking to the National Taxpayers Union he says he’s for privatization.
If Peter Roskam was against privatization of Social Security and for maintaining a government guaranteed benefit, he could have voted this past year for that position in the Illinois Senate. Instead, while Peter voted for other issues that day, he was absent on Social Security protection with guaranteed benefits for all Americans.
Absent on the issue that matter to Illinois 6th District voters? That doesn’t cut it. Sixth Congressional District voters need to vote for someone who will address the issues, and won’t betray them on Social Security. In this race the candidate that deserves their vote is Tammy Duckworth.
