The Herald News Endorses Shannon In The 13th Congressional Race

From the Sunday, October 22 Herald News - Democrat Joe Shannon endorsed as an agent of change for the 13th Congressional District:

“We wonder sometimes how many people know the northern part of Will County is represented by Congresswoman Judy Biggert of Clarendon Hills?

Despite representing the fastest-growing portion of one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation, Biggert concentrates more on the DuPage County portion of her district.
….
As for the war in Iraq, Biggert bites hard on the Republican Party line “ that we need to succeed to make Iraq like us. The only success she can imagine is an Iraq like us.

Clearly, Judy Biggert is not one to make waves.

We need a wave-maker, and her Democratic opponent, Joseph Shannon of Naperville, fits the bill.

To even try to address the concerns that most Americans have with Congress, you wouldn™t want to call on someone who is content to just go along with the party platform. That includes issues such as foreign trade, or the tax incentives that keep oil companies rolling in profits. You™d want someone who is not daunted by the task, and believes passionately he or she can successfully perform the task. That is Joseph Shannon.

Shannon also acknowledges the Will County portion of the 13th District is much different from the northern part. Crest Hill, Lockport and Romeoville have much different issues and concerns “ social strata”than Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills.

Shannon seems to care and deserves a chance to show that he does.”
