Hungry? Time To Improve Your USDA Security Profile

We used to think about food this way:

Then we became concerned about the security of our food:

Now, in a preemptive strike against bad news, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the agency responsible for measuring the number of people who formerly were called “hungry” has decided that “hungry” people are not “hungry” - rather, they lack “food security”:

Well, at least we no longer have hungry people in the United States! As the president says, “Mission Accomplished!” We do however have a growing number of Americans, 35 million (12%), with “very low food security” - and the number of hungriest (’extremely low food security’ - perhaps?) has risen over the last five years. Perhaps groups seeking to help these newly “insecure” people can apply for grants from the Department of Homeland Security - which has an interest in food security - after all, people don’t have the strength to duct tape their homes - or even pay attention to the colors of the “Threat Advisory” - when they don’t have any food.
