Like many of you I’ve been busy with the season, but a week ago State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias’ Transition Team met as a whole, according to an email from his campaign, and he’s right in calling it an “impressive group”:
“Several participants remarked how surprised they were that we could assemble such an impressive group of individuals at one time. The committee is comprised of a diverse group of people from throughout the state, including: Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn, former Comptroller Dawn Clark Netsch, Cook County Commissioner Forrest Claypool, former State Sen. Art Berman, Illinois Campaign for Political Reform Director Cindi Canary, former Treasurer chief of staff Jim Stapleton and Northwestern University professor Don Haider. The Transition Committee also includes several other elected officials as well as other notable figures, including, Chicago School chief Arne Duncan, Carbondale City Council member Shelia Simon and Chicago Urban League President and CEO Cheryle Jackson.”
The names I recognize suggest a real positive start.
