Candidates for District 204 School Board

Below is a list of Indian Prairie School Board District 204 candidates with a brief description of them and (where known) their website and biographical information. While I have not listed it, all of the candidates live with related children that attend District 204 schools.

Leanne Lyons is the assistant principal at Jamie McGee Elementary School in Bolingbrook (Valley View School District 365). She has a website at www.LeanneLyons.com and Leanne’s biography is here. Leanne lives in the Fry Elementary area (Tall Grass subdivision).

Board member Curt Bradshaw, who was appointed in June 2005, is a District 204 Waubonsie Valley High School graduate who works as a Vice President of Product Strategy at Morgan Stanley. Curt has a website at CurtBradshaw.com and a short biography here. Curt lives in the Brookdale Elementary area.

Board member Mark Metzger is a lawyer and mediator who recently received a national honor for his school board service. Mark is the longest serving District 204 board member. He has a website at Mark204.com and a short biography here. Mark lives in Aurora in the Reba O. Steck Elementary area.

Board member Alka Tyle has served since May of this year. Previously she was involved in the District 204 boundary discussions. Alka has a website at www.AlkaTyle.com and a short biography here. Alka lives in the Spring Brook Elementary area (Breckenridge subdivision).

Michelle Davis works as a realtor. She served on a District 204 communication advisory committee and sought to be appointed to the seat vacated earlier this year by Bruce Rodman that Alka Tyle ultimately filled. Kevin Knight is a stay-at-home dad (by choice) with both an engineering and MBA degree and experience in finance and negotiation. He is active with Patterson Elementary’s PTA and has worked as a Pre-school/Daycare assistant. Steven Calcaterra is a Naperville-based attorney who specializes in local government labor issues (and does not deal with District 204 as part of his work). Steven lives in the Spring Brook Elementary area (Brookwood Trace subdivision).
