The new downtown Naperville towing service has become the source of jokes for its pitch that if you get too drunk they’ll tow your car and take you home - but if you plan ahead your drunken state you save $20 ($65 instead of $85). I have a serious question. If you take the ‘plan ahead’ option, you’re driving to downtown Naperville, paying for your gas to get there, and then paying $65 for the tow back. Is that really cheaper than a round-trip taxi downtown? Is this for the ‘image conscious’ who want to show off their car going in - and are too drunk to care on the return? Bizarre.
