Wintermute Out In Illinois State Senate 42nd? Mixed Signals About Rematch With Incumbent Senator Holmes

[Update:  Completely wrong about the “mixed signals” - Terri plans to run.]

Just yesterday Aurora’s Openline Blog said that Terri Wintermute was “Ready for Rematch with Linda Holmes” - but today’s Beacon News reports that

“Terri Wintermute, a Bolingbrook Republican who lost the race for the Illinois Senate in the 42nd District to Democrat Linda Holmes last year, announced [at this week’s Kendall County Republican Party meeting] she would run for the office again. The 42nd District includes much of Aurora and eastern Kendall County into Will County
….
Wintermute attributed her loss to Holmes in the same election to countrywide Democratic voting trends.

‘It was a national thing,” she said. “And you know what? I’m not a quitter.’”
