Bush Gets 15 Out Of 18 Benchmarks In Iraq…

…that’s 15 failures out of 18 benchmarks in the Iraq War - but hey, it’s still 15 out of 18….

Random (But Persistent) Thought - So-Called “Austin Mayor”

For a while now I’ve been thinking there’s a certain genius to So-Called “Austin Mayor” being interested in (and blogging) both politics and comics. I think it probably helps make the political blogging better because of the mental atmosphere (or whatever you would call it).
Take the observation for what it’s worth.

Low-Wage Economy Update - “More Work…At Lower Wages”

As a follow-up to yesterday’s low wage blog entry, today’s New York Times cites 2006 Census figures that paint the low-wage picture - three consecutive years of declining average American wages, household income still below 2001’s figures, and an increase of 2.2 million uninsured Americans to total 47 million who lack health insurance (the numbers […]

Illinois House District 96 Attracting Candidate Interest

I’m playing some catch-up here. Recently-elected Naperville City Councilman Darlene Senger is the latest Republican to throw her hat in the race for retiring Illinois State House member Joe Dunn’s seat. Dunn joins at least five other GOP House Members who have decided to retire this year.
Darlene Senger enters a race […]

Make Public Policy - Learn How To Talk To Policymakers

Dan Johnson-Weinberger knows Illinois progressive politics through involvement as an activist, blogger, lobbyist and staffer. Locally in DuPage he has acted as an attorney (sometimes pro-bono) for candidates and the DuPage County Democrats. Dan’s putting on a half-day workshop September 21 on How to “Develop An Ask” - taking an organization’s mission and […]
