The Bill Foster Campaign announced State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias‘ endorsement this weekend in the 14th congressional Democratic primary race. Alexi has really jump-started the Treasurer’s Office - with a lot of positive reviews. His “Bright Start” college savings program helps make college more affordable for Illinois residents. His “Cultivate Illinois” program provides $4 billion in equipment, land, seed and fertilizer loans to Illinois farmers - more money than ever before in Illinois, or any other state. His rebate for consumers who purchase hybrid vehicles - part of his “Green Rewards” program - is another far-sighted program. These programs, and others, have real appeal to the residents, farmers and agribusiness, and consumers in the 14th district. Alexi’s endorsement of Bill emphasizes Bill’s concern that the 14th district improves its educational opportunities, remains competitive in agriculture and develops the “safe, secure and affordable” energy technologies of the future.
