Bill Foster Endorsed By Comptroller Dan Hynes In Congressional 14th

From the press release (all links mine):

Illinois State Comptroller Dan Hynes announced today his endorsement of scientist and businessman Bill Foster for Congress in the Democratic primary election.

‘Bill Foster is the type of voice we need in Washington to bring real change to families here in Illinois,’ said Hynes. ‘His background as a scientist and a businessman gives him the ability to take a fresh look at the challenges our country faces. I’m proud to give him my support.’

Foster is running for Congress in Illinois’ 14th District, where former Speaker Dennis Hastert is retiring.

‘We need change in Washington, DC. We need more problem solving and less political bickering. Bill Foster knows this, and he’s determined to tackle our nation’s challenges, not just engage in endless political squabbling,’ said Hynes.

The endorsement from Hynes comes on top of Foster’s first statewide endorsement from Illinois State Treasurer, Alexi Giannoulias, and support from Congressman Phil Hare (IL-17).

‘I am grateful to have Dan Hynes support in this campaign,’ said Foster. ‘As Illinois’ Comptroller, he understands how important it is that government keeps its fiscal house in order. I hope to bring the same practical, prudent approach to the budget in Washington.’

The Foster campaign continues to build momentum. On top of the support of elected officials, Foster’s third quarter FEC report showed over 680 donors – many of them first time givers – and that he out-raised his Democratic rivals’ yearly totals in just one quarter.

‘As I travel the Fox Valley and the district, I hear people tell me over and over that they want change,’ Foster said. ‘The first step in that change is for Democrats to win in the 14th District in November. With help of elected officials like Dan Hynes and others, and strong support from the grassroots, that’s just what I intend to do.’”
