I was careful not to attribute the challenge directly to the Morgenthaler campaign. I have no idea whether they were involved directly in any capacity. But given the connections of those who are directly involved in the challenge, I argue above what the political implications seem to be - and what actions seem appropriate (since disowning it wasn't the first reaction).
