Fred Thompson Out Of Presidential Race

Fred dropping out made me think, with modification, of Neil Young’s “Campaigner“:
“I am a lonely visitor.
I came to late to cause a stir,
Though I campaigned all my life [just barely]
towards that goal.”
Clearly Fred was a candidate, if ever there was one, looking to be embraced by a movement. Good year to bet on it, […]

In County Board 3 ‘The Doings’ Says Incumbents Not Getting It Done

In the DuPage County Board District 3 Republican Primary “The Doings” newspaper picked challenger John Curran over the two incumbents - and then found an incumbent to support by default (it’s a pick two situation). Not exactly a vote of confidence for the incumbents - but given the lack of planning that led to […]

Both the Illinois House and Senate passed the half-billion dollar state transit funding bill today averting a mass transit crisis by days. The bill of necessity included Governor Rod Blagojevich’s last minute amendatory veto demand that seniors 65 and older ride mass transit free. As reported in Capitol Fax, the General Assembly is […]
