I AGREE. THE ONLY WAY WE WILL WIN. THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED IN MS. STATE. NOT A LIBERAL WHO WON, BUT A MODERATE DEMOCRAT WHO DID SO. THE ONLY REASON WE HAVE THE MAJORITY.

Robert, I am not Judy! I agree that Hiram's doing a fine job. I only suggested a new topic (the future of the Democratic Party) for intelligent discussion elsewhere because I do not want him to think you or I are going off track from the original post. I do concur that "change" and other buzz words, which were used by Bill Clinton in 1992, now appear to be like a broken record. I am still baffled that Obama voters are still not truly informed, that the think he's more moderate than Hillary and McCain! A quick check of his voting record (or lack of it in the U.S. Senate one) suggests a liberal slant that ultimately may turn moderates off in November. Analyzing his rhetoric, one can conclude that what Obama is selling is really a continuation of the Carter administration. As for the Dems' future, they need to do whatever's necessary to keep Reagan Democrats in the fold in every election.

........WE NEED TO REBUILD THE ECONOMY BY ENDING NAFTA, INCENTIVES TO HAVE COMPANIES HERE, AND PERHAPES PRICE CONTROLS TO SLOW DOWN THIS RECESSION.

AS FOR ME, I LIVED IN THE THIRD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT FOR MOST OF MY LIFE. THERE, THE HABIT AT THIS TIME WAS A REPUBLICAN FOR PRES. AND A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSMAN (BILL LIPINSKI) FOR EXAMPLE. NOW HIS SON DAN WHO IS DOING A GOOD JOB.

DEAR READERS AND MR. CONE-

FIRST, HIRAM IS DOING A FINE JOB WITH THIS PAGE. HE LET EVERYONE HAVE A SAY ON THE MATTERS AND THAT IS GOOD. UNLIKE OTHERS WHO WILL "DROP YOU" FOR DIFFERANT OF OPINIONS, BUT THAT IS THEIR PROBELMS. JOE LIBERMAN. HE FOUGHT AND STAYED IN NOW A INDEPENDENT DEMOCRAT. I RESPECT THAT.

IN SHORT MR CONE, OBAMA HAS THE REV. WRIGHT PROBLEM ON HIS SHOULDERS. HOW CAN A PERSON WHO GOSE TO A CHURCH FOR 20 YEAR NOT LET THIS STUFF RUB OFF ON HE AND HIS WIFE?? HE MAY GET A PASS NOW BY THE PRESS, BUT IF HE GET THE NOMINATION, HE WILL LOSE. THEY WILL USE THIS, HIS WIFES COMMENTS, AND HOW HE IS ALSO UN-AMERICAN BACKED BY HIS OWN COMMENTS.

HE CALLS FOR "CHANGE" BUT HAS NO REAL IDEAS AT HAND. HE IS ALSO VERY COCKY. THIS TURNS PEOPLE OFF. WE NEED A PERSON WITH EXPERIENCE NOW. NOT A TRAINEE.

HE KNOWS WE CAN'T JUST LEAVE THIS WAR ON TERROR. WE WILL LOOK NOT CREDITABLE TO THE WORLD AND THEY (THE TERRORISTS)WILL COME HERE. HOW ABOUT PEACE WITH RESPECT AND HONOR? CAN OBAMA WIN THE SOUTH? THE WHOLE SOUTH?

I AM SORRY THAT MY PARTY DIDN'T GO WITH JOE BIDEN FOR EXAMPLE. IF MRS CLINTON WAS FORWARD FROM THE GET GO, SHE MAY BE AHEAD.

I FEEL THAT IF OBAMA GET THE NOMINATION, THE SILENT MAJORITY WILL ONCE AGAIN COME OUT IN EVERY AREA AND VOTE MC'CAIN IN JUST AS THEY DID IN 68 WITH RICHARD NIXON. BLUE COLLARS, WHITE COLLARS, AND THOSE FED UP WITH PROTESTORS. IN SHORT, WE HAD THIS AND LET IT SLIP AWAY AGAIN! TOO BAD.

ROBERT JONES

PS.-- WHERE OR WHERE IS A FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT WHEN WE NEED HIM?

Robert, please explain in detail why you think Obama is unelectable, especially in light of the current economy. You bring up a great issue, though. What will the Obama-Clinton battle for the nomination do to the Democratic Party in the long-term? I'm trying to step back and look objectively at these calls for Clinton to drop out. I understand the purpose is for party unity. Perhaps those who urge her to drop out do so because they're worried that if the current division in the party is not healed quickly, McCain will win in November regardless of who the Democratic nominee is. Robert, your post suggests there are two factions within the Democratic Party: liberal and conservative. The way I see it, the Party has nominated liberals the past few elections, and most have lost. Maybe Hiram can set up the future of the Democratic Party and appeasing all its diverse voting blocs as a new topic to discuss.

DEAR READERS-

WHAT NERVE. THE LIBERAL PRESSURE ON SEN. CLINTON TO " DROP OUT." DON'T COUNT OUT MRS. CLINTON YET. THERE IS STILL FLA. AND MI. STATES TO GO TO. RUSH LIMBAUGH WAS AGAIN WRONG REGARDING THE IN. STATE VOTE WHICH WENT TO MRS. CLINTON. THIS WAS THE THE CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATIC VOTE THAT HELPED WIN THIS FOR HER. www.bluedogdemocrats.us/ (POINTED OUT WELL BY WOLF BLISTER OF CNN NEWS.) NOT LIMBAUGH AT ALL.

HOWARD DEAN HAS TO ASK, WHICK OF THE TWO CAN WIN AGAINST SEN. MC'CAIN IN NOVEMBER AND CONNECT DEMOCRATS?

FOR THE GOOD OF THE PARTY, OBAMA HAS TO DROP OUT NOW. HE IS UN-ELECTABLE IN MY OPINION. THE DEMOCRATS WILL LOSE IN NOVEMBER OTHERWISE NOT BEING TOGETHER ON THIS!

For the sake of the party I hope it works things out with Hillary. She's worked so hard over the years (as Bill as too), and all those supporters of hers in Florida and Michigan are being left out of the process. If she does carry on through the convention, she's doing so in hopes of a resolution that would satisfy her. If not Hillary, perhaps someday Chelsea will become President.
