The Democratic Nominee For President Will Not Win Every Vote

Yes, it’s true. The Democratic nominee for President of the United States in 2008 will not win every vote in the general election. This has caused much anxiety (and resulting analysis) from pundits left, right and center - but really, since most of us aren’t selling our words, it’s not a big concern. The fact is that the Democratic nominee has never won every vote in a general election. More to the point, this year the Democratic nominee shows every sign of winning the presidency. That’s not good enough for pundits, but it should be good for the American people.

With all due respect, Hiram, it’s “President” with a capital “P”. I think proper usage calls for all other presidents (corpoations, organizations, etc.) to be in lower case. All the Dem nominee needs to do is win over moderates and the so-called Reagan Democrats. In sum, I think you would agree a win is a win.

    Hi Roy,

Fixed the typo - thanks. Don’t think you got my point on the rest of it - which is as you put it that “a win is a win.”.
