Local Version - If You Like What’s Happening, Vote Republican

It’s interesting that even in local races, in the face of a hiring freeze in Naperville and a budget requiring cuts, in the face of a recent county-level budget meltdown requiring record property tax increases, etc. that the claim is made that things are going great in Naperville and DuPage and to continue them, continue voting Republican.

Republican Candidate Darlene Senger tried this strategy in a 96th House District debate with Democratic Candidate Dianne McGuire last night in Naperville. One effect of this bizarre approach to politics (hint, things aren’t going well now) was that Senger drew audible gasps from the crowd when she said in response to an affordable housing question that Naperville’s housing was becoming more affordable, due to dropping housing prices. Maybe after years of ’stay the course’ and ‘isn’t everything great’ governance people are ready for a change that offers solutions beyond continuing financial decline. You don’t need to be partisan to recognize problems with having the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, an economy that nationally has lost around 600,000 jobs eight months in a row which has also cost local jobs and, as Darlene Senger pointed out, dropping home prices which are hurting people in Naperville, Aurora and throughout the country who are losing equity in their homes. You don’t have to be partisan to think that we need to work on fixing these and other problems - not admiring them.

    DEAR READERS-

READING THE PAPERS, THE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM IS TO HELP OUT SOME OF THE BUSINESS INTERESTS WITH A CONTRACT TO PAY BACK WHEN THINGS ARE BETTER. TO NOT HAVE A RUN ON THE BANKS.
IT’S IS FOOLISH TO JUST TO HAND IT OUT AND EXPECT NO RETURN! EXAMPLE, WOULD YOU LOAN MONEY TO ME IF I HAD NO PLANS TO RETURN IT TO YOU? NO.

WE HAVE TO CUT BACK ON BIG SPENDING SOCIAL PROGRAMS SUCH AS DOUGH OUTS TO EVERY COUNTRY OUT THERE, CUT BACK ON WELFARE PAYOUTS INCLUDING HEAD START, USING THE LAWS IN PLACE IN 1994, AND BUILD A SURPLUS WE HAD DURING PRES. CLINTON’S YEARS.

AS OF TODAY, WE HAVE NOT SEEN THIS. I WILL AS I HOPE THE READERS DO, VOTE FOR THE PERSON WHO CAN DO THE JOB NOT PARTY. IF IT’S REPUBLICANS THAT IS IT!

Don’t think I could vote for born alive acts, funding of abortion, or “between a woman and her doctor stuff.” Abortion is abortion.
