I DON’T KNOW ABOUT THAT? TIED IN WITH THE GOV. AND TONY RISCO? NOT A GOOD SELLING POINT! IDEA? HOW ABOUT A CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRAT WHO LIVES IN THAT DISTRICT? MAYBE YOU MAY MAKE SOME REAL INROADS? NOT A PHONEY CANDIDATE THIS TIME OR THE LAST?
If memory serves, it Phil Crane, Dennis Hastert and Henry Hyde that gerrymandered the districts not all that long ago, putting Morgenthaler’s (and Duckworth’s) homes outside IL-6.
And let’s not forget that Peter Roskam and his law partner Al Salvi were caught selling their votes in the GA through their PAC called the Sir Thomas More Justice League. That is major league corruption, as opposed to the Rezko fantasies of ROBERT JONES.
AS A CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRAT, FACTS ARE FACTS. AS STATED BEFORE, NOT A GOOD SELLING POINT. IF THAT WAS TRUE, WHY HAVEN’T THIS BEEN MENTIONED ALREADY BY DUCKWORTH AND TODAYS CANDIDATE? WHAT IN THIS FOR DUCKWORTH OR THE GOV.?? HE NEEDS TO GO!
Just because ROBERT JONES is ignorant of something, doesn’t mean it never happened….
In the mid-1990s, he [Peter Roskam] and law partner Al Salvi, then a state representative, formed the Sir Thomas More Justice League.
It was a political action committee aimed at raising money from trial attorneys and others opposed to tort reform measures then moving through the General Assembly.
Terrence Lavin, former president of the Illinois Bar Association, recalled Wednesday that Salvi and Roskam promised, “We will never, ever vote for tort reform,” when they asked him for a $25,000 donation.
When Roskam decided to vote for tort reform under pressure from Republican leadership, he and Salvi (who voted “present”) returned many of the donations to their PAC. It was an all but open acknowledgement that the Sir Thomas More Justice League had been a votes-for-cash enterprise all along.
NONSENSE. IF YOU WHAT YOUR MONEY, YOU MAKE, GIVEN TO SOMEONE ELSE, TO “SPREAD THE WEALTH” THEN LISTEN TO SOCIALISM TALK OF COLIN POWELL, AL. SHARPTON, OR THE OTHERS! IF YOU WANT TO MOVE FORWARD, VOTE MC’CAIN/PALIN IN 08! PUT AMERICA FIRST!
ROBERT JONES
P.S.== AS FOR YOUR CANDIDATE IN THE 6TH, I DON’T THINK ROSKAM HAS TO WORRY. CASE CLOSED!
Robert Jones is quoted as “HOW ABOUT A CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRAT WHO LIVES IN THAT DISTRICT? MAYBE YOU MAY MAKE SOME REAL INROADS? NOT A PHONEY CANDIDATE THIS TIME OR THE LAST?”
Robert……is there such a thing as “heavy metal” canidates these days? I think most of them on BOTH sides are made of plastic. Just my 2cents.
Roskam tried to run in another district before the sixth. He just packed up and moved there. Ran, didn’t win. When the sixth opened up, he did the same thing. He packed up and moved there. So, no real commitment to the district, no roots there. Morgenthaler has lived in the same house for 17 years. She has served our country for over 30 years. Roskam is a trial lawyer earning over $750,000 per year.
The very worst is his negative campaign and his refusal to enter into debate to defend and explain his record. He tried it against Duckworth, and now is doing the same against Morgenthaler. I say throw the bum out. Oh, he voted against the GI bill too.
