It’s just shabby.
Now don’t get me wrong, I believe that grooming and clothing costs within reasonable bounds are justifiable campaign expenses (particularly if you’re doing things you normally wouldn’t do grooming- or clothing-wise for the political campaign). But you can’t have it both ways. If John Edwards got attacked for $400 haircuts - then what’s one to say about the Republican National Committee (RNC) spending more than 11 times that amount on Sarah’s hair and makeup ($4,716.49)? Heck, the $150,000 they spent on her and her family’s wardrobes and grooming makes John McCain’s $520 Ferragamo shoes sound positively working class. The RNC even gave Sarah Palin her own personal GOP shopper - what would Republicans and the press say about a Democratic candidate given a personal shopper from the party?
