Hiram and his wife have lived in Naperville, District 5 for eleven years and have two children. In 2003 Hiram volunteered with the Howard Dean campaign, becoming the Chair of Fundraising and Outreach in the all-volunteer DuPage for Dean Group. He now leads the DuPage section of Democracy for Illinois, a state group embracing socially progressive and fiscally conservative policies that was inspired by Democracy for America, a group dedicated to similar ideals.
